Other comments: Kunda (Chikunda) or Mu Chikunda is spoken by approximately 162,000 speakers in Mashonaland Central province: Guruve district, Zimbabwe as well as Mozambique and Zambia. Kunda has a quinary system similar to that of Nsenga. The word for thousand 'saŵeleŋeka' literally means uncountable. The word sauzande might be a loanword from Nsenga. Please note the symbol 'ŵ'=IPA [β]. |
