Other comments: Kiyoombi or Yombe is spoken by 734,000 speakers in Kongo Central province: west in Mayombe forest, Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as Angola and Congo. Kiyoombi or Yombe has a decimal systems. The number 'one' has two forms; 'měsi ' is used only in listing number names, while the ' mwêːkə̀ ' is used in counting objects. The construction of decades 70, 80 and 90 is different from that of 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60. The 1000 kìβěβì / bìβěβì is used practically only in counting money. |
