Other comments: Kaqchikel or Cakchiquel, Maya is spoken by approximately 415,000 speakers out of 1,000,000 ethnic population in Guatemala city and nearby departments in Central Guatemala as well as Mexico. Kaqchikel has a vigesimal system. However, most speakers use Spanish for numbers over 10. Note that winəq is used to count people and time, whereas -k’al̥ is used for objects. |
