Other comments: Jola-Kasa or Diola-Kasa has a quinary-vigesimal system similar to that of Bandial. The word ten 'kʊ'ŋɛn' means 'hands', fifteen means 'foot', twenty means 'king', hundred and thousand are borrowed from Wolof. Jola-Kaasa is spoken by approximately 45,000 speakers in Ziguinchor region: Bignona and Oussouye departments at Casamance river mouth; Hitou and Niamoun villages north of Casamance river, Senegal. |
