Other comments: Duungooma or Du, Duungo, Mali Duun, Samogho, Samogo, Samoro, Western Duun is spoken by approximately 160,000 speakers in Sikasso region: Kadiolo and Sikasso circles; Bafini river north basin, Mali. Duungooma has a vigesimal system with the single word for 400 and the 'waʔa' is the Bambara loan-word for '1000'. Note that the beginning sound is the obstruant occlusif palatale non-voise (unvoiced palatal plosive), so the c is the IPA symbol [c]. |
