Other comments: The modern Nanga or Nanga Dama has a decimal system. There is an archaic form for 80. They borrowed Fulfulde number 100 'tɛ́ːmɛ́dɛ́rɛ̀'. Nanga is spoken by approximately 3,000 speakers in five primary villages including Anda, Namakoro, Kono, Wakara, and Soroni. Compact zone about halfway between Douentza and Bandiagara. Probably subgrouped genetically with Bankan Tey and Ben Tey. Most also use Jamsay Dogon, Tommo So Dogon. |
