Other comments: Bira (Kibira) or Bera, Plains Bira is spoken by approximately 120,000 speakers in Ituri province: Irumu territory, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bira or Bera has a traditional numeral system, but they also use Swahili numbers. Usage of the two forms for 'one'ː with inanimate nounsː the numerals are site above, with animate nouns as followsː mikí ᵑɡílini - one child. mikí ɓí-motí - a certain child. ɓaníkí ɓá-ɓalí - 2 children. ɓaníkí ɓá-ɓá-sáalɔ - 3 children. ɓaníkí ɓá-íini - 4 children. From 5 onwards, numerals are invariable. Please note that there are some prenasalised stops [ ᵑɡ ], [ᵐb], [ᵐp] and [ᶮtʃ]. |
