Other comments: Bete is a nearly extinct language spoken only by 50 speakers (1992), out of 3,000 Ethnic population in Taraba state: Takum LGA, Bete town, foot of Bete mountain, Nigeria. Bete number system is based on five, the numbers 6-9 are composed of 5+1, 2, 3, 4, higher numerals after ten needed. |
