Other comments: Bella Coola or Nuxalk is a moribund language spoken by 11 elderly out of approximately 1,700 ethnic population in British Columbia province: Burke channel head, North Bentinck arm, Bella Coola river mouth, Canada. Bella Coola has a vigesimal system. The cardinal numerals are stative intransitive verbs. They can be employed predicatively as well as attributively. The word ''three'' means ''being next to'', ''four'' mus is a substantive term with cognates in many Salish, Wakashan, and a few other Northwest Coast languages. |
