Other comments: Àbèsàbèsì has a vigesimal numeral system. The data was recorded in Ìkáràm̀ and represents the Èkìròm̀ dialect. It shows a vigesimal numeral system except for every five numbers before 20 and its multiples (15 – 19, 35 – 36, etc). These numbers are composed by subtracting 5 to 1 from 20 or its multiples. 1000 and 2000 are loans from Yoruba. The first variant of one (ígbōn̄) is only used for counting.' Àbèsàbèsì is spoken in the Akoko North East and Akoko North West Local Government Areas (LGA) of Ondo State, Nigeria. |
