Other comments: Aja-Gbe has a rather complicated numeral system of counting similar to that of Fon-Gbe. There are two sets of 1 to 10, the first set is a number used when counting abstractly, the second set would be used for counting concrete items. Aja or Aja-Gbe, Adja, Hwè is spoken by approximately 1,280,000 speakers in Coufou department: Aplahoué, Djakotomè, Dogbo, Klouékanmè, Lalo, and Tovinklin communes on Mono river; Mono department: Athiémè, Houéyogbé communes; Zou department: Agbangnizoun and Djidja communes; Cotonou and many southern mixed-language towns, Benin as well as Togo. |
