Within the framework of research on Malayic isolects of western Borneo data were collected on various isolects of southwestern Kalimantan. The grammatical description of Delang is based on my own fieldwork and on extensive material from a book which contains the translation of various bible texts (Anonymous. 1938. Djalan Solamat ditoendjoe olih Al-Kitab (Bahasa Delang). Banjermasin [sic!]). A text sample from the Lord's Prayer looks as follows:

Oi	Bopai	koi,	ado	di-sroego!	Damo	Koelo	di-brosih!
oh!	father	1plexcl	be	Loc.heaven	name	2sgpol	pass.clean
Our father which art in heaven! Hallowed be thy name!

Ko-radja-än	Koelo	datang-am!

Thy kingdom come.

Ko-honda	Koelo	di-lakoe-an	di-poetjoe	goemi	niin,	niat	di-dalam	sroego!

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven!

The paper will also briefly discuss the position of Delang in the 'West Borneo Malayic' subgroup posited by Nothofer (1999).
