Other comments: Sene is an extinct language (Last known speakers likely survived into the 1980s) formerly lived at Lakona village north of Finschhafen town, which is now almost Kâte-speaking. An old man in the village gave the data of counting system. The informants gave yakeo yake as an alternative for four, meaning 'two and two'. Although the information is not complete, it can be seen that there are three or four distinct numerals with tallying on the hands. |
