Other comments: Minanibai is spoken by about 1,000 speakers in an area near Omati River mouth in Ikobi Kairi and Goaribari Census districts, Gulf province, Papua New Guinea. Minanibai might have a digit-tally system up to twenty. They mainly use English and Tok Pisin numerals, so they have been forgetting their traditional ones. Minanibai has recorded traditional numerals from 1 to 2 years ago, not sure if they are still using old traditional numbers or body tally after 2 or now use Tok Pisin numerals after two. New data for numbers after ten is required. |
