Other comments: Doromu-Koki is spoken by approximately 2,000 speakers in Inland Rigo district, Central province, Papua New Guinea. Doromu-Koki has a 5-cycle counting system. The word for hand is 'βɑnɑ', so number 4 might be from a subtractive or 'one less'. Dutton (1970) gives the word 'bero' as meaning 'side' giving thus 'hand side' or perhaps 'hand to the side'. |
