Other comments: Bonkiman is spoken by approximately 150 speakers mainly in the

Madang province. In Morobe province, Bonkiman is only spoken in the village of Yuwong on the north coast of the Huon Peninsula near the Madang border, Papua New Guinea. The data were obtained from a village informant. The meaning of the expression for nine is not clear, but is probably an expression for the coming together of the fingers of two hands which should have appeared at ten. The informant was very hesitant and needed a great deal of prompting to obtain the above information. There appear to be three distinct numerals with the use of hands to tally further.
