Other comments: There are only 4 real Anggor numbers. Beyond four is a body part tally system with a half-cycle of 9; there is no unique midpoint lying on the body's axis of symmetry. Note that the numbers one 'mamɨ' and two 'yimbu' are similar to those of the Menggwa Dla or Dera language. Anggor is spoken by about 1,500 speakers in 11 villages, Amanab district, Sandaun province, Papua New Guinea. |
