Other comments: Amele is spoken by approximately 5,000 speakers in Madang district, hills up from Astrolabe bay, Madang province, Papua New Guinea. Amele has a base five counting system. It is based on the hand and five fingers. In Amles you literally count on the palms of your hand. This counting system is only really practical up to 10. 20 can be expressed by 'hand palm palm hand palm palm =add'.
