Other comments: Abun has a decimal system based on twenty. The numbers 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 might be borrowed from Austronesian language. The data was taken from Karon Pantai dialect and the another list with an asterisk mark was from Madik dialect. Numbers 'wotin', 'ribu' and 'calon' are loanwords from Austronesian languages. Abun is spoken by about 3,000 speakers in about 20 villages in Sorong regency, Ayamaru, Moraid, and Sausapor sub-districts, north coast, interior of central Bird’s Head, Indonesia. |
