Born in Jinjiang county, Fujian, China

籍貫: 福建省晉江市金井鎮南埕村

Language ability :
      Mandarin, Hokkianese, Cantonese, English and some reading degree
      of Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and other
      Indo-European languages.

Professional knowledge and Research:

1983-2006 Comparative Indo-European linguistics, Old Greek, Old
English, Latin and Old French. English etymology and phonetics.

1983-2012 Contact with over 2000 linguists in the world in the past twenty-
five years and collected linguistic data, including genetic
classifications, phonetic systems, numeral systems, grammatical
materials and vocabulary from over 4,000 languages in the world.

研究興趣:

1983-2006 印歐語系歷史比較語言學, 古希臘語, 古英語, 拉丁語和古法語。
研究英語辭源學和語音學, 希臘語構詞法, 拉丁語構詞法, 古法語
和現代法語構詞法, 人類語言學, 地理語言學和民族學。

1983-2012 在過去的二十五年期間, 曾經與世界上一百五十多個國家二千多
位語言學家通訊交流。收集了超過四千種語言的系譜分類法，
語音系統，數詞系統及其他重要的人類語言學資料。

       Ka-dai languages and 48 linguistic maps, 1000 pages,
        to be published in the institute of Linguistics, Academia
        Sinica, Taiwan.

1992-1993 向介紹全世界人類語言的網絡巨書"全人類的語言 "編者
芭芭拉. 格林姆匯報中國境內新發現語言的情況。

1998-2012    完成大型語言研究文獻《太平洋地區南島語系人民的數系
        統和計算概念》，記錄了九百種分布于亞太地區屬于南島
        語系的語言和卡岱語群的語言的數詞系統，並附有四十八
        幅中英對照語言分布地圖，此書將由台灣中央研究院語言
        學研究所出版。

Current undergoing project 目前進行中的研究計畫:

2000-2006: 在非英語環境下中國大陸和香港學生學習英語時，在語音，
語法和詞彙記憶三方面所遇到的的難題和有效的對策。

2001-2006: "中國學生該如何正確理解和學習英語國際音標" 幫助中國
學生理解描寫人類語言的國際音標表的真正涵義, 正確理解
Daniel Jones教授所設計的國際音標中英語語音的原意。　

2001-2012: "如何有效利用流行電腦軟件金山詞霸記憶英語單詞和理解
                    英語發音規則" 現代英語中從古希臘語, 拉丁語和古法語借
                      用超過一百萬字的詞彙, 占英語詞彙量百份之八十以上的,
                      輔助中國學生理解" 金山詞霸"內最重要的核心部分(語源解
                      析)中有關古希臘語, 拉丁語和古法語的詞性變化過程, 引導
                      學生科學地, 快速地記憶數量龐大, 浩如煙海的英語詞彙以
                      及理解這三種古代語言的發音規則, 掌握這些借詞的正確
                      發音規律，尤其是多音節的单詞的正確發音。
