Other comments: Lushootseed has two serious of words used for counting. The first set of these are the general numerals used for non-humans. The lexical suffix -ačiʔ 'hand' is used to indicate decades, that is, the interval corresponding to the number of fingers on both hands, while the word for 100, sbəkʼʷàčiʔ, appears to contain the radical bəkʼʷ 'all', suggesting an etymological source in an expression meaning 'all hands'. |
